Pairing WishFarm blueberries with one of Americas hottest spirits’s, bourbon, is sure to be this summer’s hottest couple. The combination of blueberries and bourbon appeal to both men and women. Bluegrass State distilled bourbon is filled with bold aroma. How can blueberries compete with bourbon? Blueberries enhance the bourbon. Blueberries bring out the complexity of flavors one often finds in bourbon.

Did you know infusing fruits into bourbon is common. Have you tried a recipe with Apple Bourbon? Delicious. Blueberries are a delicious superfood and their distinct flavor stands up to and compliments bourbon. Infusing blueberries with Bluegrass State distilled Bourbon is a winning combination in my book.

Fruit infusions into bourbon are super easy to make.

Go ahead and try infusing a variety of berries into bourbon. Blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries … I love options.

Many of the fruit infusions take an average of three days to fully develop a flavor.  Use Fresh, ripe fruit and a clear glass jar to observe what’s going on in the process.

Go now to the store, pick up some berries and bourbon. Create my infused blueberry bourbon with lemon cocktail recipe then enjoy the summer sunshine by the pool.

Are you attending the Food Wine Conference in Orlando, Florida? The conference will be celebrating it’s 5th anniversary. The dates are May 19-21, 2017. Are you going this year? It is not too late to purchase a ticket. One of the conference sponsors, Wish Farms is hosting a #BerryDelish contest, where bloggers were tasked with creating a cocktail or mocktail using their fresh berries. With so many berry good (see what I did there?) cocktail options, I went with one of my favorites, Blueberries. Florida blueberries are currently in season.

This recipe was created for the #BerryDelish contest in conjunction with the Food Wine Conference. I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are mine alone.
